Innovation has always been in our DNA, and in 2012 that creativity went galactic.
To celebrate the re-release of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace 3D, one of our forward-thinking clients asked if we could create something out of this world — a black burger bun.
Using natural vegetable charcoal, we produced what’s widely recognised as the UK’s first-ever black burger bun. The bold creation was an instant hit, capturing the imagination of chefs and consumers alike and marking the start of a new era for creative, “Instagrammable” food.
That same year, fuelled by the success of our Dark Side bun, we began to experiment with every colour of the rainbow. From bright blue and sunny yellow to ruby red and pastel pink, Colourful Bakery was born — a playful range inspired by popular culture, sporting events, film launches, seasons, and even gender reveals.
A recent highlight? Our limited-edition magenta pink burger buns for the release of the Barbie movie — a sell-out success that perfectly captured the moment.
